  • What are Filigree Engagement rings?

    What are Filigree Engagement rings?

Filigree Engagement rings are ornamental, intricate designs made from metal. The meaning of filigree in jewellery is quite distinct. A decorative element is used in which a fine, delicate, and elastic thread of precious metal. It can be either platinum or palladium. The thread is then twisted or curled into the design and soldered to the jewellery’s face.

These motifs can often be intricate and beautiful. This creates a lacy look for wedding rings and engagement rings. Although the designs are also available on handcrafted engraved jewellery, filigree is a different process than engraved jewellery. Filigreeing is the process of placing embellished metal on top of a piece. Engraving is where a piece can be carved to create a cosmetic result. This is what is used in art deco filigree rings.

Why is filigree special in engagement rings?

The colour and fragility of rings are what we experiment with. These experiments result in creating beautiful, delicate filigrees using metalwork, which can include gemstones, pearls, and diamonds as centre stones. Because of their beauty and intricate design, beautiful antique rings from Edwardian times are treasured today. Filigree rings can be chosen for many reasons. One reason is that precious metals are less expensive than gemstones.

    Filigree rings have many positives

Filigree rings are a cost-effective way to add embellishment to a ring. Filigree rings can be used to accent smaller diamonds and gemstones. Filigree rings can add romance and old-fashioned charm to an otherwise ordinary or common engagement ring. Vintage filigree rings are a great choice for brides who want to make their rings stand out. Because they are unique and reflect a different time, antique filigree rings are popular for brides.

What are the most popular settings for filigree engagement rings?

Pear-shaped diamonds, knotted settings and halo cushion cuts are among the most common filigree settings for engagement rings. If you ask for the most beautiful rings, you will find rings made before 1950.

What was the “vintage” age for filigree rings?

The Victorian Era created the need for vintage filigree engagement rings. Many jewellers prefer to call them “vintage”. The 1940-made rings have a filigree appearance similar to the Edwardian era. This era saw the rise in popularity of the filigree engagement ring. Brides who desire a Victorian look.

The quality of an engagement ring is a key determinant of its beauty. Higher quality rings are more costly but also more durable and beautiful. Once you have determined what you want in an engagement ring, you can then decide your budget. You can filigree antique engagement rings with any intricately designed ring. Here are some examples:

  • Which ring size am I?

    Which ring size am I?

In movies, marriage proposals go without a hitch. The man puts the right hand on his lover’s finger, and it fits perfectly. Although they never discuss the details of the ring’s size, he knows. What happens in the real world? But it doesn’t always work that way. It’s possible you don’t know your ring size. If you don’t know what size your ring is, how will your future husband/wife know?

While it is not something anyone wants to do, sending back an engagement band for resizing is not an option. However, it’s easy to determine the size of your finger. What if the ring isn’t right? It’s easy to resize your ring. With Clarity is an example. You will only have to pay shipping costs. We won’t charge you extra for resizing because we aren’t satisfied until you love your ring.

We tell you that it is better to do it right on the first try. These are the best ways to determine your ring size before buying it.

Which ring size do I need? How do I find out?

It cannot be easy to buy clothes. A size 6 from one company may fit better than an 8 in another brand, while a size 6 from another company might fit like an 8.

However, rings sold in Canada and the United States are not sized according to this system. While other countries use a letter system for sizing rings, jewelers in the United States and Canada follow a standard system of ring sizes. These metric systems are given in millimeters. They are based on the inner circumference of the ring. Sizes 3-9 are the most common sizes for women’s rings, with 6 and 7 being the most popular.

Jewelers in brick-and-mortar stores determine the size of a ring by using a mandrel. This is a tool made from metal that uses markers to show the size of the ring based on how it fits onto the ring finger. It’s a little more difficult to shop online with jewelers such as With Clarity. But it’s really simple and doesn’t require you to take off your clothes.

These are the easiest methods to determine your ring size.

Measure another ring to determine the fit. Use the With Clarity size guide for an approximate measurement.

Use string and dental floss. Wrap a piece of floss around your finger, but not too tightly. To get an approximate measurement, mark the spot where floss or string meets.

Visit a local jewelry shop. There’s no pressure to buy anything. You can easily stop by a local jewelry store to have your finger measured and then order an engagement ring online.

Order a ring sizer online from Amazon. Don’t try to measure yourself. Get on Amazon and purchase a ring sizer. These tools are affordable and come in every size (and half-size) you need to ensure a perfect fit.

Here are some tips to help you choose the right size ring:

It is easy to get your ring resized, but it is better to do it right the first time. This is how you can get your ring sized correctly before ordering it.

    • Your ring size should be measured at the end when your fingers are the longest. Your hands naturally swell during the day, so measure your ring size at the end of the day when your largest finger is.
    • Please measure the size of the ring finger on your hand so you can measure it. Because finger and hand sizes can vary, make sure to base your sizing on what finger you will wear the ring.
    • Give your knuckle a little extra room. You should allow for a little more room for your knuckles than for the actual finger. The ring should meet some resistance at the knuckle but not excessively.
    • When printing a size guide, turn off scaling. Although the With Clarity size guide for rings is precise, printers can sometimes misinterpret certain settings. Ensure that the scaling option is set correctly if you plan to print the guide. This will ensure that you don’t have a distorted image or printout.
    • Measurements should be taken over several days. Your finger size can change from day to day due to swelling, salt intake, and other factors. Take measurements over several days simultaneously every day to determine the right size ring for you.

  • Which Hand Should the Engagement Ring Go on?

Which Hand Should the Engagement Ring Go on?

All that goes into a wedding day is full of emotions and nerves. You don’t want to worry about whether your wedding ring is on the right hand or finger during the ceremony. Which finger is the ring finger?

The traditional position for the wedding and engagement rings is on the fourth finger of the left side. There are many traditions regarding how your engagement and wedding rings are worn at different points in this journey. Understandably, it can be a little confusing to juggle the two.

    Origin of the engagement finger

Ancient Romans chose this finger to represent the vein directly to their heart. This connection to the heart was why they named it Vena Amoris or “Vein of Love,” although this belief has been disproven.

In ancient Rome, rings were important. Unlike a bracelet or necklace, the circle of the ring symbolizes completeness. It signifies that the love between the couple is true and complete. There are exceptions to this left-hand rule.

For example, engagement rings are more often worn on the right side in Russia or Greece. Catholic couples believe that although the vein of love may not be there, the fourth finger symbolizes the heart and hand connection. So, even in Russia and Greece, Catholic couples tend to wear their wedding and engagement rings on the fourth finger.

    What does engagement mean?

The term “engagement” refers to a commitment to marry someone. The ring is the formal agreement to marry someone; it can be considered the signature at the bottom of a contract. The tradition of wedding rings dates back nearly five thousand years. However, the engagement ring was created much later.

The engagement ring was first introduced by Archduke Austria in the 15th century when he proposed to his future wife. The diamond engagement ring expresses the promise of forever love between two people. Women wear the traditional engagement ring to signify their love for the man. However, men can wear rings. Engagement rings for men are gaining popularity thanks to celebrities like Ed Sheeran, who advocated for them and the legalization of same-sex marriage.

How to wear the wedding band and engagement ring?

What finger is the wedding band worn? It is most likely on the same finger as the engagement ring. It gets more complicated. The rings can shift depending on the circumstance. This quick guide will help you determine which finger and hand your engagement ring should go on.

After the engagement but before the wedding

The ring is presented to a couple as a promise of marriage when they get engaged. Therefore, it is placed on the same finger and hand as the wedding ring. People who are engaged should remember men can also wear that engagement rings. They should wear them on the fourth finger in their left hand.

During a wedding ceremony: Which hand does the wedding band go on?

The engagement ring is usually worn on the left side of the hand. However, this tradition is mixed up during the wedding ceremony. Some brides prefer to wear their engagement ring on their right hand for the ceremony, as the wedding band is typically worn closer to the heart (on the inside of the engagement rings). This allows the groom to easily slide the wedding band onto the bride’s finger without moving the engagement rings.

    After the marriage ceremony

After the ceremony, most brides switch their engagement rings to their fourth finger. Many women keep their engagement ring there and slip it on each morning after they have worn the wedding ring. (A friendly reminder that your rings should not be worn while you sleep, regardless of how much you love them. Your fingers can grow and shrink at night. This is just the tradition.

Unique ways to wear your wedding band & engagement ring

Modern couples are changing old traditions to suit their relationship better. Women are also mixing up the wedding ring and engagement ring traditions. Your unique love can be expressed by finding a new way of wearing your rings. Women often wear their rings in their way.

    • Keep the rings in their right hand
    • Wearing the engagement rings closer to their hearts
    • Combining the wedding and engagement rings into one piece of jewelry
    • Only wear your engagement ring on special occasions
    • Layer the wedding band and engagement ring together with an accent white diamond band

  • Can a woman propose to a man?

Can a woman propose to a man?

Yes, she can — Proposal guide:

The tradition has been carved in stone by generations: Heterosexual couples have a guy who proposes marriage. Since the feminist revolution in the 1970s, cracks in this monolith have been evident. The 2020s could be the decade when that old supposition is finally dissolved. Although it is not uncommon for women to propose to their male partners, recent surveys have shown that only 5 percent of straight married couples proposed. However, attitudes are changing, and women will soon be able to have the unique, heart-fluttering, soul-drying experience of popping the question.

According to a 2015 survey, 70% of men would be happy for their female partner to propose marriage. Mansplainers might argue that 70% is a substantial majority, especially when it comes down to deeply ingrained social habits. Further evidence that men are less dominant in the proposal process is that more couples are buying the engagement ring together and even splitting the cost.

    You’ll know if it’s true

“Generally speaking, most couples have had informal discussions about getting married and building a life together before a proposal. It’s not about whether, but when they get married. It’s not a good idea to be anxious, sweating bullets, or praying that the person you love will marry you.

It is real. You probably know how much your partner values tradition. According to relationship expert Adina Mahlli MSW, “Before you propose to your boyfriend, make sure that you ask him if he’s open for the idea.” Your proposal may be too traditional for your boyfriend. You might be the one who has been planning the perfect proposal for years. To know if your proposal will be romantic, you must get to know your boyfriend.”

Do not propose because you are afraid of losing or insecure

This age-old trap is a trap that both men and women fall for. Darne says that it is not unusual for someone to propose marriage when they suspect their mate may be losing interest, cheating or on the brink of cheating. Sometimes, it is necessary to propose marriage because of a move, military deployment, or if the mate is attending college outside of their home state. Marriages based on circumstances and not love more likely to fail. It is equally bad to get married to the wrong person if you are getting married for the wrong reasons.

Keep your proposal short and sweet

There is no one right way to propose. Don’t put pressure on yourself to make an Instagram-worthy proposal. Tessina advises to keep it private between you two. You can save the big splash for your engagement announcement.

    Only you

While you might be breaking centuries-old traditions, there are still rules that must be followed. Remember that your proposal is about you as a couple. Do not let sociology get you down. Mahalli says, “Your proposal isn’t different from a standard male initiated proposal in the same way that male initiated proposals differ from one another.” Proposals should be authentic, creative, and show love. It’s up to you, regardless of gender, where you take it from there.

  • How do you find a unique wedding band for women?

How do you find a unique wedding band for women?

Marriage is a promise that will last a lifetime. You want a wedding band that can endure the trials of your life, whether it’s for good or bad, richer or poorer, sickness or health.

Wedding Band is much more than just a beautiful piece of jewelry. Wedding bands, also known as wedding rings or wedding bands, are a way to honor and commemorate your marriage. They make your love visible to all the world.

Many people overlook wedding bands. People tend to focus on the big diamond at the top of the engagement ring. Many people don’t realize that wedding rings are an integral part of a married couple’s left hand.

You want your wedding band to look great together, so make sure you choose a set that compliments each other. Also, don’t forget unique wedding bands while shopping for your big rock.

What’s the Difference Between Wedding Bands and Engagement Rings?

There are two major differences between wedding bands and engagement rings. An engagement ring is a symbol of commitment and aspiration for matrimony. On the other hand, a wedding band symbolizes matrimony and the union of the married couple.

Another difference between the two types of rings is their visual appearance. The most flashy engagement rings feature a variety of gemstones and diamonds and can be arranged in many ways. However, wedding bands tend to be more peaceful and simple, but that doesn’t mean they have to be boring. Please scroll down to learn more about our unique wedding bands made of gold.

Many aspects make a wedding band unique

Most weddings have very few commonalities, aside from the white gown, the walk down to the aisle and the huge creamy cake. Why should they? Every wedding is unique and special, making it a perfect occasion for a unique wedding band.

You can show your love and care by choosing a unique wedding ring. Some grooms and brides need a lot more than others. However, many of us want to feel special on one of the most important days of our lives. We want to look back and cherish the wedding band that we can’t find anywhere else.

Wedding bands don’t have to be simple. Many wedding rings can still be distinguished by their unique design and ornamentation. Clarity will help you find the perfect ring for your loved one, including unique wedding bands sets.

    Diamonds

It’s never too much to sparkle, and wedding bands with diamonds are something to admire. A wedding band for women decorated with lab or natural diamonds is a wonderful way to make your ring stand out and give it a special meaning.

    Colored gemstones

Gemstones can be a little rarer than wedding rings with diamonds, making them a great choice to make your ring stand apart. Colored gemstones come in many sizes and colors, both natural and lab-made. They are fun and can be used to personalize our unique wedding bands.

    Metals

It would help if you considered more than diamonds and gemstones when selecting a wedding band. You must choose the right metal for you. There are many options, but you already know that wedding bands made of gold will never go out of fashion.

    White Gold

The white metal is a beautiful and timeless choice for a wedding ring. White gold is a wonderful choice because of its silvery shine. It complements any gemstone or diamond in a ring setting. It is available in 14kt or 18kt. 18kt white will be slightly more expensive due to its purity, while 14kt gold will last slightly longer.

    Platinum

Platinum rings are purer than other metals, which gives them a cooler tone and a higher price. Platinum bands are more durable than other materials. Platinum is not affected by scratches like other metals like white gold and silver. Instead, scratches are blended in a patina look – a type of matte finish that can enhance your ring and give it an antique look.

    Yellow Gold

Yellow gold wedding bands are extremely popular. They have a warm appearance due to the combination of pure gold, silver, and copper. This trendy finish is easy to match with any outfit, and it never goes out of fashion. A honey-colored, warm color can create a contrast with gemstones and diamonds, should you decide to add them to your band.

    Rose Gold

Rose gold is becoming a popular choice for wedding bands. It is made up of pure gold and copper, which gives it a reddish tint. However, it needs to be cleaned more often to keep its pinkish hues. With clarity offers a unique rose-gold wedding band.

  • A Guide to Stacked Wedding Rings

A Guide to Stacked Wedding Rings

We can say about weddings that they are rich in tradition. Every culture has its traditions, and most countries have some wedding rings. We believe jewelry traditions should be broken. Particularly, there is no reason why a bride should wear a plain band and a simple solitaire ring. Today, stacked wedding bands have become more popular than ever. Let’s take a closer look at this option.

Are you looking for stacked wedding bands?

We all know what a standard set of rings is. It consists of an engagement ring and a matching marriage band. These wedding bands are designed to look good together and can be worn together. A ring stack, which is a collection of three to five rings worn on one finger, is something a little different.

There are many options. A stacked set of wedding rings should be easy to wear and comfortable. While you can mix and match the rings in the stack, it is expected that you will be wearing these rings daily. It would help if you considered how much metal you can comfortably wear. This is easy: Put a few of your rings on one finger and then see how they feel.

How to create your “ring stack”?

There are many options for design, provided you keep in mind your comfort level. You can choose mismatched stacks of wedding bands as long as they look good together. Here are some design tips to help you get started.

Mixed metals? You should try it!

Most wedding bands have been made in one color of metallic over the past few decades. White gold, in any purity, is the most common. Yellow gold is timeless, while rose gold can give off a romantic or vintage vibe. Platinum is an excellent choice for high-end engagement rings.

It’s much easier than you might think to mix metal colors with stacked-diamond wedding bands. The bands will look the same regardless of their metal colors because the diamonds create a uniform look. You might choose a thin rose-gold band with small diamonds and white-gold diamond solitaire. This can be very attractive, especially if you use the same or similar diamond shapes.

    Stack it up…how high!

You should also consider how many rings you should have in your stacked engagement rings or wedding bands. A random number of rings is best. You might also consider adding a second ring to your wedding band and engagement ring. This can be done by getting an engagement ring with a high setting. Add a wedding band that contours around your engagement ring and another one once the first child is born.

You don’t necessarily have to limit yourself to three. You can stack your anniversary rings over time. This can be done in several ways. One way is to buy a new ring every few years or combine them with “new children” rings. Your imagination and the space available on your fingers are your only limitations. You can make the ring as narrow or wide as you like. You can also wear fewer rings some days than others.

    Also available in colored stones

However, stacked wedding bands that include solitaire rings can be made in any color you choose. There are many great options for using gemstones with diamonds. Adding the appropriate birthstone to each ring can be done to celebrate a new baby. The stack can become very colorful over time. You could also use your birthstone or a piece with sentimental value.

The metal color is more important when using colored stones. Experts in design recommend that the metal color be consistent using different stone colors. Also, don’t mix metal colors with stone colors. Combining metal colors and stones can cause problems with the harmony of mismatched wedding bands.

  • The Princess Cut Engagement Rings

    The Princess Cut Engagement Rings

It’s more than choosing a stunning ring – this is a decision that will be treasured and admired fondly for the rest of her life. It should not only catch her eye but also remind her of the moment she slipped it on her finger.

A couple’s engagement rings should reflect their love and uniqueness. You might consider buying a princess-cut engagement ring. They are modern cuts that break away from traditional options.

There are many styles and cuts of engagement rings that can be used. Knowing a bit about princess cuts can help couples decide if they are the right choice to represent their love and commitment. This relatively new cut is a stunning choice for engagement rings. It offers beautiful style and dazzling sparkle that’s often only available in the most expensive diamond rings.

    About Princess Cut Diamonds

How did the name “Princess Cut” come about?

The princess-cut name was first used in the 1960s to refer to a different cut of a diamond. It is now known as the profile-cut. Arpad Nagy, a diamond cutter, created the profile/princess cut/shape. The true princess cut diamond, which is still very popular today, was invented by BetzalelAmbar, YgalPerlman and Israel Itzkowitz in 1970.

What does a princess cut diamond look like?

Princess-cut diamonds have an inverted pyramid profile and four bevelled sides. This allows for bright sparkle due to the many facets.

The most distinctive characteristic of princess-shaped diamonds

The princess cut diamond’s sparkle is one of its most distinctive features. The round, brilliant-cut diamond set in a prong setting will give the best sparkle. However, the princess cut reflects more light than any baguette, radiant, or emerald-cut diamond.

Size ratio for a princess-shaped gemstone

A princess-cut diamond can vary from rectangular to square, depending on its length and width. A princess-cut diamond will have a ratio of 1.01 to be rectangular, while one with a ratio of 1.2 to be square will be more rectangular. This determines the appearance of the diamond from above.

What number of facets does a princess-shaped shape have?

Here’s something to keep in mind when buying a princess-cut engagement ring. Princess-cut diamonds have 57 or 76 facets. These are cut to create a brilliant spark. The 4Cs are the same, so a princess cut diamond will cost less than a round of the same weight.

A princess-cut diamond can sometimes conceal inclusions, making it more affordable for those with tight budgets. Customers should also consider the four Cs: cut, colour and clarity. These factors will influence the final price of an engagement ring made of diamonds, regardless of its shape.

Trends and popularity of princess-cut diamond engagement rings

The popularity of princess cut rings has increased so much that they are now second to the round brilliant cut ring. The round cut is still a popular choice, but more brides are choosing to go with the unique beauty of the princess cut. Princess cut diamonds are popular because they look larger in the side view than round diamonds.

Because of their popularity, princess cut diamonds are very popular with brides:

    1. Design brilliance and versatility. These ring designs are considered more modern, a plus for brides who prefer a modern look. The chic square design can be used in many settings and styles, giving brides plenty of options for a ring they will treasure for their entire lives.
    2. Elegance with maximum sparkle. We mentioned that princess cut diamonds are very popular as jewellery, but they shine best in engagement rings. This shape is perfect for an elegant, princess-cut solitaire ring.
    3. There is less waste of rough diamonds. The rough material used in princess cuts (60-60%) is very limited, so it is not possible to waste any of it.
    4. Round-cut shapes are more affordable than round-cut ones. The most popular shape for engagement rings is round brilliant-cut diamonds, which account for three-quarters of the market. Princess cuts are less expensive than round-cut diamonds because there is less waste and more demand.

Learn More about Sizing and Pricing

Because of their cut, princess cut diamonds tend to be a bit more expensive than round ones. Round diamonds are more wasteful than round ones. Creating a 0.40ct polished takes approximately 1 carat of the rough diamond. Creating a princess cut diamond of 0.80ct to 0.90ct takes approximately 1 carat. Princess cut rings are more affordable than round-cut rings due to the lower waste and higher yield.

The radiant beauty and sparkle of princess-cut engagement rings are sure to please. An engagement ring should be a personal choice that reflects the love and devotion for each other.

    Wedding Ring vs Wedding Band

Sometimes, the terms wedding band or wedding ring can be used interchangeably. It is important to know the differences between them.

An engagement ring is presented to the bride at the time of the proposal. The design focuses on one large, central gemstone, such as a diamond.

Wedding bands are given to the husband and wife during the ceremony and are often more subtle. There are many options for wedding bands for women, with different levels of complexity. However, wedding bands for men tend to be simpler. However, it is possible to choose rings that complement or match one another.

How to wear your his-and-hers bridal bands?

Traditionally, his and her wedding rings are worn on the left ring finger. Women often stack their wedding band and engagement ring on the same finger. • Are Men able to wear engagement rings?

Are Men able to wear engagement rings?

Ed Sheeran’s 2018 red carpet walk in 2018 with a ring on the finger raised eyebrows. He did tie the knot. He didn’t tie the knot; he was wearing an engagement ring. Wait…do men wear engagement rings? The answer is: It depends.

Sheeran is one of many men opting for engagement rings to show their status to the rest of the world.

In February 2018, he told reporters that he had never understood why men don’t wear rings. “Because it is the same commitment in either direction.”

Why do we wear engagement rings?

According to the American Gem Society, the practice of giving engagement rings dates back to hundreds of years. It is believed that Archduke Maximilian, an Austrian Archduke, ordered the first diamond engagement rings for his fiance in 1477.

The trend for engagement rings took off from there. Men presented engagement rings to women to show potential suitors that they weren’t on the market.

Up until the 1930s, engagement rings for women were also considered a financial transaction. Women could sue their husbands if they broke up. A woman is considered “damaged goods” when engaged but not married. You could also use the money to buy the ring after a breakup.

Are Guys averse to Engagement Rings?

Because it is still a growing trend/practice, there aren’t hard numbers about how many men wear engagement rings.

    L. Bamberger & Co., the company that would eventually become Macy’s, placed advertisements in East Coast newspapers advertising engagement rings for men. These ads featured men wearing rings with masculine names such as the Master and the Stag.

Men didn’t like the ads because they thought engagement rings were a feminine-only accessory. However, the perception may be changing. A survey by The Knot found that about 5 per cent of men own engagement rings.

These reasons can vary from one person to the next. It’s a tradition for some couples.

After proposing to Luisana Lopilato, singer Michael Buble wore an engagement ring. He said that the boy also wore the engagement ring in Argentina. Sheeran said that she had told him the same thing. Other men like Sheeran do it because they see marriage as a partnership. Both sides assume equal roles and responsibilities, including wearing engagement rings.

What do Men’s Engagement Rings Look Like?

Women’s engagement rings used to have a distinct look: solitaires of diamonds with yellow-gold bands and possibly additional gems. Today’s bride-to-be is opting for more unique engagement rings. Multicoloured stones and non-traditional metal bands, such as rose gold, can be made to suit their individuality and their relationship.

This is true for men as well. While most engagement rings for men look similar to metallic wedding bands, some are customized with diamonds or other gems. Because not many men wear engagement rings, the possibilities are endless. Sheeran described the engagement ring that his fiancée gave him as “Cherry made it herself out of silver clay.”

So, do men wear engagement rings? Clarity got a diamond engagement ring, then a simple one for the wedding. It’s a great way to establish your relationship before the wedding and get a her-and-hers engagement ring.

Rubies: A Stone With a Rich History

Since the ancient Egyptians, rubies have been a very popular gemstone. Ruby rings have been a popular choice for many years. For centuries, the use of ruby gemstones in wedding rings, engagement rings, and other unique gemstone pieces has been common. Rings with rubies are in great demand. Because of their timeless beauty and classic look, rings featuring rubies are always in high demand.

    Ruby Rarity & Allure

Ruby’s key characteristic is its rarity. Their rarity is a key feature of rubies, especially in the case of vintage rings. Rubies are the most expensive colour gemstone in the world. Rubies are rarer than natural diamonds!

    Ruby Meaning

The vivid colour of this gem has been associated historically with power, wealth, royalty. Rubies have been treasured possessions for centuries in India. Rubies are the July birthstone and the traditional 40th-anniversary gift, so they are an outstanding choice. They make beautiful engagement and wedding rings.

    Ruby Popularity

Every celebrity and member of the royal family have worn a beautiful vintage ruby ring. Famous ruby ring-wearers include Jessica Simpson and Victoria Beckham.

    Shopping For Rubies

There are some important points to remember when shopping for rubies:

    • Budget: These are the most important things to consider when looking for a ring. Although rubies can be expensive and are very rare, many options are available that will fit any budget.
    • Shape Although rubies can technically be cut into any shape they choose, the best shapes for gemstones are round, square, princess/square and heart.
    • Size Rubies are not measured in carats like most gems. Instead, they are measured in millimetres.
    • SourceRubies are either unnatural or natural. Many gems offer a variety of options, including treated stones. Natural stones, however, are better than treated rubies. The treatments don’t always work well and result in lower quality gems.

    Ruby rings with vintage inspiration

Your jewellery will be more interesting and unique if you incorporate vintage-inspired rings. You should know some things about antique ruby rings to help you (or your partner) choose the right one. Many options offer the best styling elements, such as:

    • Milgraining is A technique in which tiny metal beads are used as design elements to jewellery pieces, usually in a border or ornament.
    • Intricate/Scroll metalwork: Many vintage ring designs include metalwork with motifs and designs. This style can contain everything from leaves to flowers to birds.
    • Halo This style of setting surrounds the centre stone with smaller gems. It makes the stone appear larger and shines.
    • Emerald-Cut/Shape This is one of the oldest engagement and wedding rings made of gemstones, with examples going back to the 1500s.
    • Princess Shape: Popularized in the 1960s, this style gives any ring a retro and vintage feel.
    • Yellow Gold Band This classic yellow gold band has been a popular choice for centuries. It is a great way of incorporating a vintage element in modern jewellery. This metal option gives off the vintage feel of vintage gemstone rings.
