INTRODUCING THE LAUREN B. LAB READY COLLECTION

We are delighted to announce the launch of our LAB Ready Collection, which features GIA-graded, lab-grown diamond engagement ring sets!

The Collection has many styles and diamond shapes to fit every bride. This Collection has something for everyone, whether your fiance wants a classic, round “brilliant”, cut solitaire engagement band or a vintage-inspired, antique cushion cut ring.

First, let’s clarify what a lab-grown stone is and why you should choose it for your engagement ring.

If you haven’t read our blog post What the Truth is About Lab-Grown Diamonds, there is a lot of misinformation about lab-grown diamonds. Why are lab-grown diamonds so misunderstood? It could be due to the belief that any other than a mine, a real diamond, can be one.

The genuine lab-grown diamonds are also called “man-made” or “lab-created”. The Federal Trade Commission changed its definition of a diamond in 2018. It removed the word “natural” because lab-created diamonds have the same chemical, physical and optical properties as natural diamonds. The diamond has found its match.

Lab-grown diamonds should not be confused with natural alternatives like cubic zirconia or moissanite. These look similar to natural diamonds but have different chemical and physical properties. Lab-grown diamonds cannot be distinguished from natural diamonds without high-quality technological equipment. A highly skilled industry professional would need to spot conflicting crystal patterns between these gemstones, even with the most sophisticated equipment.

The price of lab-grown diamonds has stabilized due to technological development and increased competition over recent years. This makes them a viable and cost-effective alternative to natural diamonds for engagement rings, centre stones and fine jewellery.

The LAB-Ready Collection

Our Lab Ready collection features premium quality, lab-grown diamond centre stone (or stones) with premium cut, clarity and colour. These styles can be “shopped cart”, ready for a romantic proposal. Choose the metal colour and the ring size you prefer, and you’re well on your way towards a happy engagement.

Below you can view a selection of styles sorted by shape or browse the complete Collection.

Round “Brilliant” Cut

The round “brilliant cut” diamond is the traditional engagement ring. It has been loved by generations of people with sophisticated and romantic tastes in jewellery. Round diamonds sparkle with a brilliant-cut that’s unmatched by fancy shapes. Round “brilliant” cut diamonds have a large surface area, making the centre stone appear larger than its weight.

Cushion-Cut

The cushion-cut diamond is the most feminine. It has a soft, pillow-like appearance and exudes elegance and grace. The versatility of cushion-cut diamonds is unmatched. A delicate pave band, or subtle diamond details on the centre stones, can be used to complement this cut.

Radiant Cut

In 2021, the radiant-cut diamond was second in demand. Radiant cut diamonds have the same sparkle and fire as the “brilliant” round cut. This creates a striking centre stone that is equally captivating for the recipient.

Pear Shape

The pear-shaped diamond is fun and attractive, making it a great choice for creative brides. The pear shape is a combination of marquise and oval cut diamonds. It has one rounded and one pointed end that forms a teardrop-shaped shape. The longest width-to-length ratio of the pear-shaped diamond is next to that of the marquise. This means the pear-shaped centre stones cover more area on the fingers than other fancy-shaped diamonds.

Oval-Cut

In 2020 and 2021, the most in-demand shape is the oval cut diamond. Our 2022 Engagement Ring Predictions confirm that the oval cut diamond is the most in-demand shape for the third consecutive year.

Oval diamonds are similar to pear-shaped ones and provide more coverage on the fingers than other fancy-shaped diamonds of the same carat. Brilliant-cut faceting in the oval diamond gives it the same sparkle as a round diamond but with a longer shape.

Emerald-Cut

Emerald-cut diamonds exude sophistication and a pleasing aesthetic. The emerald-cut diamond’s parallel facets create a “Hall of Mirror”, allowing a clear view into the centre of each diamond. This enhances the beauty of the emerald. The 1.61-carat Emerald Cut Lab Diamond Three Stone Engagement Ring features an emerald-cut centre stone and matching step-cut trapezoids. These beautiful three-stone engagement rings are uniformized by the matching step cuts of the trapezoid and emerald-cut centre stones. The tapering effect of trapezoid side stones gives the ring dimension.

Antique Cut

The “Old Mine Cuts” diamonds have been adorning brides’ hands for almost 200 years. The antique cushion cut has the same feminine shape as the modern cushion cut but with more facets, adding a vintage touch to its overall aesthetic.

Diamond Duos

The duo of diamonds has become a popular trend in engagement rings. It attracts brides with diverse tastes. You don’t need one centre stone when you have two equally stunning ones.
